Mosaic is an ancient art. Its direct connection with architecture makes it a decorative-monumental art, but there are some works that have the art of painting.
The origin of the mosaic art comes from the Ancient East – Schumer, Mesopotamia and Egypt, as well as from all the Mediterranean civilizations. The real cultural bloom is in the monuments of the old Christian art and during the Byzantium Аge.
In the remote past natural materials with mineral origin were used for making mosaics, as well as some special modules made of glass, ceramics and smelt.
